Ordering

A contract is formed when we confirm your payment by email, not when you press pay. If we cannot make what you have ordered — a supplier discontinues a blank, say — we will refund you in full and tell you why.

Prices

Prices are in pounds sterling and are the total you pay for the goods: the Price Marking Order 2004 requires a consumer to see a final price, not one that grows at the till. Postage is shown separately before you pay, and there is nothing else added afterwards. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. The price of a personalised piece depends on how much of it ends up engraved, so the price you are shown after your preview is the price you pay — catalogue prices are a starting point, not a quote.

Your artwork

By uploading a photograph you confirm you have the right to use it. We will not knowingly reproduce copyrighted images, trademarks or brand logos belonging to somebody else, and we may refuse an order that appears to. We also reserve the right to refuse anything illegal, hateful, or designed to harass a named person.

You keep every right in your own photograph. We claim nothing beyond the licence needed to make the thing you asked us to make.

Our design work

The artwork and data we prepare from your design remain ours. You are buying a physical object, not the files behind it.

Natural materials

Slate, wood, leather and cinnamon leaves vary. Grain, colour and thickness differ piece to piece, and cinnamon leaves in particular are never the same size or shape twice. That variation is the material behaving normally, not a fault.

Cancelling an order

Pieces made from your own photograph or your own words are personalised goods under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, so the 14-day right to cancel does not apply to them. You are told this on the product page, at the point you add one to your basket, and again at checkout, where you confirm it before paying.

Our ready-made design sets are not personalised, and the full 14-day right to cancel applies to those in the ordinary way.

Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if goods arrive faulty, damaged or not as described. Those rights apply to everything we sell.

Liability

Our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Complaints and disputes

Email us first — nearly everything is settled that way, and we would rather remake a piece than argue about one. We are not currently signed up to an alternative dispute resolution scheme, which we are telling you because the Alternative Dispute Resolution Regulations 2015 require a trader to say so. Nothing here affects your right to take a claim to the courts, or your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Who you are contracting with

Your contract is with GAO Group Ltd, whose registered office is 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE. Singulosity is a trading name of that company.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
